I am most drawn to eating a vegan diet myself and when I do a lot of yoga and meditation I lose my taske for meat and dairy completely. At the same time, there ar times that I really crave meat and will sometimes eat it (and eggs as well). When I buy from small local farmers it somehow feels okay to me spiritually. I also sometimes eat wild meat that is hunted by family members of mine.

Although the way animals are hunted these days isn't very noble or sacred, I've read about the hunting practices of certain Indigenous tribes on Northern Turtle Island and there is a great honouring of the sacrifice that an animal makes and I have read that animals will often offer themselves up willingly.

There's also the whole issues of how many Indigenous peopel live and being in harmony with the local plants and wildlife and for many Tribal Groups veganism would be impossible, like say the Iniut. Inuit Throat singer Tanya Tagaq is very outspoken about the Inuit's right to harvest seals for food and to sustain their communities through sales and export.

I sometimes get stuck in the supermarket for long periods of times pondering whether cashews that traveled an ocean to get here are really less harmful than a box of eggs from a local farmer (even thoguh I don't really like eggs). wouldn't animals be harmed during all the transportation of many specialty vegan items, whether directly through the interference of the large vessels that transport goods,

or through pollution? I wonder a lot how my love for vegan food can be reconciled with all of these things. I love tempeh, though apprently soy farms are almost as bad as cattle farms when it comes to deforestation and destruction.

Those are great points! Many indigenous peoples have given wonderful examples of how to respect Nature (e.g.: honoring the life of the animal by utilizing every single aspect of it)...

...While I wouldn't personally partake, I don't see anything wrong with meat, eggs, or milk that is acquired locally through hunting or small farms where it is treated in a similar manner (i.e.: in a way that is ecologically sustainable and respectful of the animal)...

...The huge intake of meat often leads to factories that contribute to environmental degradation, animal abuse, dangers to workers, waste, and pollution. As you've pointed out though, the same could be said of a lot of large scale agriculture too (including "alternatives" like soy, almonds, etc.)...

I look forward to reading that article. You didn't come across as pushy at all, I agree with you completely about large scale meat and dairy production. And I was hoping I didn't come across like I was trying to convert you to carvivorism.

You're welcome! I'm so happy you like my artwork <3 At least in terms of Y2K I learned more about it through CARI (Consumer Aesthetic Research Institute)'s website and Twitter. I found it a really good starting point for finding artists I like in the style. You're right though, there's so much hidden y2k stuff on the web waiting to be discovered. :)

im so conflicted, i've grown up watching digimon anime series religiously when i was younger but i also don't think it'll ever compare to pokemon even though pokemon probably came after digimon

Fair. At least I did not put my opinions on where Beyblade, Monster Rancher and Dinosaur King on the list, then people would really get mad at my placement of Pokemon. Additionally, Digimon can be watched seriously in subtitled format.
