i keep seeing ppl copy paste entire pages off my site to theirs 😭😭 what the hell like. for what reason. code your own shit.

ive seen one person straight up copy paste my about page. like everything on it. down to the style of how i wrote my little intro paragraphs and everything. girl if youre gonna copy paste my shit at least change it up a little goddamn

idk it just makes me so angry that people are just straight up stealing others pages and passing it off as their own. i get drawing inspiration and looking thru code to see how things are done but STEALING CODE is just downright awful

and honestly if you like how someone coded their page then yeah being inspired by it is fine or like. asking them how they coded their page or did what they did but dont go stealing code without permission. people put time and effort into them and unless stated theyre not free to use templates. there are plenty of sites out there with templates for you to use if you really want to just dont steal ppls code

yes it's really infuriating to see :( and especially since there was no form of credit at all as to where this person got their "template". and even then giving credit doesn't excuse stealing code from someone.

I’m sorry this happened to you (and more than once!) 💔 I often see people on twitter boast about how they just copy-paste the HTML from carrd/other neocities, it makes me so angry… At least most of these people are here for the trend, not for the love; I don’t think their sites will last much

In a server I'm in there was a problem with someone flat out stealing someones personal assets onto their site and not to mention this sort of strange disrespect I've been seeing among users who migrated from tiktok and how they treat websites and art.. :[ I really wish this wasn't such a problem esp with all the HTML resources we have now

On an unrelated note: It's been a week since I noticed the Retronaut webring was broken. Under other circumstances I'd apply to remove the ring from my site, but Retronaut is so... simplistic, I'd probably be breaking the ring if it ever came back.

I feel you 100% on the vulnerability with writing fiction. One thing that helps me sometimes though is writing Without the intent to publish at all; it helps me kind of break down that feeling of having to make everything palatable/up to an invisible standard. I also think about all of the unprofessional pieces of writing that make me happy and inspired, and remind myself that those aren't 100% perfect either.

i'm right there with you! i've recently been writing more, too, and it's such a trip sometimes. i agree that it has to do with conviction, like if *I* don't 100% believe in this world I've made up, how can the audience? and even when it's not for public view it's like, do I really believe in these words? the struggle is real T_T

I'm very happy to see I'm not alone in writing fiction. I know alot of my anxiety around showing my interests comes from bullying I've faced but even just with my closest friends I get nervous at just talking about headcanons ;o; I've been considering having a fiction section of my website lately

I also get similar feelings about writing fiction! I've been putting off updating my solo journaling archive because part of me is still worried that what I wrote will seem "cringe," incohesive, or boring. I want to get over that hurdle so that I can improve.

i very much feel this! i can draw all day and be as 'cringey' as i want but something about writing.. i feel so vulnerable!! cant wait to read it, whenever youre comfortable!

This is so wild! I feel pretty much the opposite about writing fiction vs nonfic/autobio stuff. For me, fiction allows me to write about personal experience but with a degree of removal that allows me to process it without feeling embarrassed. I do still feel extremely vulnerable, but I guess I also feel like my fiction is more powerful because other people can find themselves in it.

(cont of my other comment lol) For that reason, I've always felt like it is a skill and a huge sacrifice for someone to write autobiographical stuff and especially to write it well. I really enjoy to read your journals and other writing from your experiences. But I totally believe you can get better at fiction too, just like I could get better at autobio. After all, we're both already good writers. :3

I know it's a little early. But I've created a new column in the Shiny Collection for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. I call it the Redemption Series as I believe the Scarlet and Violet versions will turn out better than Pokemon Sword and Shield ever could be. The developers have clearly learned their lesson from those games and (HOPEFULLY) Nintendo or The Pokemon Company won't get in the way of their work this time.
