I liked your Life of Pi review a lot too! Your Wuthering Heights review has also inspired me to finally give the book a chance, haha. I really enjoy your review page layout, and your art is lovely. I just stumbled across your post about stationery, enticed by the photograph of the Platinum Preppy pen. I recently invested in a Kaweco Brass Sport fountain pen and I've been in love with it; I found and picked it whilst searching for a 'buy it for life' pen to align with my minimalist views. You might enjoy the modular Traveler's Notebook systems, also, if you haven't encountered them yet!

I mention these specifically because, although it's easy to fall into overconsumption with stationery, both of these products (although they require a significant financial investment at first) are designed to get better with time and be used for life. They're designed to discourage overconsumption, even down to the fact that wear and tear (the patina) is seen as a feature, not a defect.

Your writing on finding transcendence in nature reminded me of a book that I am reading currently, entitled 'Strange New World' by Carl Trueman. He is a Christian theologian, so you may not agree with his conclusions, but he discusses the ideas of the Romantics and how they found transcendence within chapter two, and I found it interesting. You might too.

Even though I abandoned Christianity as a belief system, I still cherish its intellectual dimension, so I’m definitely interested in what Christians have to say. Also, I love the Romantics. My love for scholasticism and the philosophy of religion is the main reason behind why I decided to study theology at an undergraduate level. There's definitely a lot of valuable perspectives to think about (and read) both from secular and religious authors. Whilst I don't agree with certain key Romantic ideas because of my faith, I think there are a lot of things Christians could learn from them, too.

It is refreshing meeting people who are able to learn from different schools of thought even though they disagree with some aspects of them. Sadly, I don’t encounter that way of approaching knowledge that often. I find awesome the fact that you are studying Theology, it must be really interesting! I recently watched a video about the theology of St. Gregory of Nyssa.
