europe and japan (maybe canada) seem the most likely to enact laws like this. the us and uk are more inclined to empower giant corporations to carry on finding new and innovative ways of stiffing their customers.
my epson xp400 is a relic of the before time (c. 2011) that's even got a USB port so you don't need to connect up your outmoded OS to the internet just to print shit. except the ink cartridges are being phased out, the ones they make they only fill halfway, and there's no one left who will service the printer if it breaks down. "oh, you need to buy another one" fuck you too.
