if you're hosting your own website on your own server (or are exploring doing that because of neocities+ai), also consider hosting an invidious instance. the official list is down to 1 site, down from 24 when I put up the link to invidious.io early last year. its future relies on forcing google staffers to continuously play whac-a-mole with invidious instances.
also a reminder that you can install invidious with a little command line work to have your own private instance, rather than needing to rely on THE ONLY public one.
invidious is an ad-free, tracker-free youtube frontend. when you search for something in invidious, it searches for those keywords (and ONLY those keywords) on youtube, then when you click on something to play it, it loads the raw video data in its own player, preventing google doing any analytics on you.
