Once again, the chaos of the world is driving me to regress to childhood nostalgia. But it's inspired me to make a fun new layout for my Barbie page that I'm hoping to share soon, along with additional Barbie/doll content!

I think childhood nostalgia is a kind of "mental safe space" that a lot of people here share. It is good that it pushes you towards creativity rather than apathy. I look forward to seeing what you've come up with!

Thank you! I try to use my nostalgia to tune into the present and look forward, not just idealize the past. It definitely provides comfort in the familiar but also in the hope for the future it can give me.

on "validity to real-life collections" - I completely agree. I have a small collection of antique porcelain dolls, and it wouldn't really work for a digital collection because there's not like anything about these dolls online they simply don't exist. As well each has their own story to tell with their previous owners and stuff. The internet is an ethereal place and it doesn't deal with that well.

Yeah there are some things I will always want a physical thing of, esp. stuff like perfume haha. but honestly you've inspired me to maybe start some digital collections!! at the very least a virtual shelf could be a fun way to display a wish list on my site. and ty for your kind words!! <3 I love making my pages visual and fun so it means a lot.

Finally got around to surfing some sites on my bookmarks and lemme just say I love your site. I love not only its layout, but the amount of stuff there is to look at. Thank you! The original layouts were closer recreations of old AOL themes but I've started being a little more creative. But AOL was my first taste of the internet so I love referencing it.
