Is it a clone of the original JAUP, or you ran the original and revived it now?

It's a clone. For a brief 3 year or so period of time from 1996 until around 1998 [name redacted] was the webmaster of the original JAUP. It was a very fun period of time. GeoCities and other free host sites were in thier heyday. You could get your site listed on a couple of search engines, sites like this and other award sites just by asking and soon you would get thousands of hits!

I never knew [name redacted] personally, but my original site was listed in JAUP back in the day. I found it on the Internet Archive back when I was making my NeoCities site and I decided to revive it and try to recreate the fun of the early days of the World Wide Web

Regarding the "Hugo and Neocities" post, recursive upload is possible with the neocities CLI tool, no custom script needed. I just do "neocities push build/". It's pure Ruby AFAIR so should be easy to install via gem on any OS.

I had issues with the ruby gem the last few times I tried to install it (SSL certificate issue, I think?). Whatever it was, I did cursory research, realized it would take some time to sort out, and just went back to my MacGuyver setup.

Exact date of December the 12th, 2012 depends on the correlation constant with the Maya calendar, which still isn't determined with certainty.

I know you are not looking to add new districts, so this proposal is intentionally not serious! Troy (or Babylon): sites that used to be actively updated but haven't received an update in over three years. Potemkin Village: sites that have a good-looking index page, but links to all other pages are broken. Germania: sites that started with megalomaniac plans but never materialized.

Please add my tool's site to Silicon Valley. Also, shameless plug: if you use soupault, you can easily add fully static (no JS) ToC to every district page, they are a bit hard to navigate without it. I can help you with using it if you are interested.

We're sorry but we only list 88x31 buttons on districts - it's always been that way and we don't plan to change it, for the sake of simplicity and consistency. We can still list your site anyway, of course.

Thank you! We will add that next update, it hasn't really been stated anywhere due to the fact that 90% of site buttons are that size anyway but it really should’ve been in our FAQ.
