I finally tracked down a site which I ordered some Celtic art from a few years ago. (I forgot what the site was called.) Glad I found it because it sells art of one of my favourite artists.

It's called the Quirky Celts and is a UK site. Not sure what the postage would be like to overseas, though. It's usually expensive.

There are a lot of projects in magazines which I want to do, but getting hold of the materials is proving problematic this year. So it will probably be a summer of Mill Hill projects (if I can find a way of keeping the papers and beads safe from Max - he is a chewer.)

I remember one online cross stitch company that people tried to turn into a replacement for one which doesn't exist anymore end up becoming one of my least favourites, both in terms of the stock they carry and in how rude they are to customers by ignoring questions they ask about if they are restocking, etc...

I've found Hawkins Hobbies and Create Nostalgia to have the best range of them. Other sites don't have a good range or are always out of stock.

I learnt a long while ago that in rp, it's better to play your favourite characters (if you can) than to expect to be able to interact with another person's version of it. Depending on how the other person treats people in rp, you can be very disappointed if you don't.

Wish I could get rid of the rp anxiety I got from twitter. It's not the same place, these are different people. Completely different rp format, but it's still there.

I have tried forums in the past, but they weren't very active - one was old, and although most of the members were still there, I think they'd been doing it so long that they had done all the ideas they had or were busy doing other things. Didn't help that the owner was trying to set up another forum in a different fandom so it seemed abandoned. The second one was new, but the owner was trying to

do too many things at once and didn't have staff helping on the forum. It's a bad idea that, because it's a lot of work and you get burned out. This one seems to be quite active and there are enough people on there to have a good group, so hopefully it will work out. Wish there was less emphasis on discord, though and more ooc interaction on the forum.

Re reviewing books: You make a good point. I don’t bother just trying to review new books. There are too many books to read over a long period so I just read whatever I feel like. Then if anyone else is interested, that’s great

I found my copy of Stephan King's Cycle of the Werewolf today. Don't normally read his books. Tried to get into The Shining once but found it boring. Film is better..

You're missing out IMO. The book scared the wits out of me as a child, while the movie was just meh like most Stephen King movie adaptations.

I just didn't like it. The passages where Jack spent ages reading newspaper clippings on the history of the hotel were too long and over-written. They slowed down the plot of the book too much for me. Sometimes books can just have too much waffle in them.

I've also added a page for the Iron Druid Chronicles. I had the first book in the series in the cupboard - needs reading, but I didn't feel right adding a page for the series until I'd found the book. Hopefully, it is a good series. I've also done a page for Felix Castor, which I've not done until now.
