Thanks! It's super outdated, since the last time I updated it I've found a really detailed book on Aztec/Mexica mythos and history and would like to add it soon. Really I find that irl books are a better resource for it than online since online is dominated by Nordic/Celtic stuff on the anglo web-being unable to speak Spanish can really curb research on this stuff for sure :/

I'm not sure where you live, but if you live in North America and have Barnes and Noble I highly rec "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Aztec & Maya"! No one reads history and mythology stuff when they go to B&N so you should be able to grab it for cheap. It all works out in the end-no one buys them, they go on sale, and I (and any other mythology/history nerd) get a bunch of resources for cheap!

I think you've made some pretty astute observations about the machinations of the for-profit internet, but I'm wondering a little bit how the thing you're describing is different from like... privately-hosted, publicly-accessible websites like forums and virtual worlds with password-protected areas. You can have rules and accounts and bans and moderation without all the web 2.0 social media ad revenue bloat.

okay so I have thoughts on this but they're like waaaaaay longer than for a comment section... boils down to: yeah you're totally right and I didn't think about that, but forums and virtual worlds have the same sole proprietorship issue (which cannot really be escaped ever admittedly) and starting your own requires a lot of technical know-how and time which makes them not-feasible as an open platform scheme

We genuinely might have to remove the references to plurality from our main site. The tl;dr is that one of our parents found out that we're still publishing books, and is REALLY intent to have the books / look at our seller page for the books. She's a lovely person but I don't know that she would understand or believe the plurality. So, uh, we have to be more . . . "presentable."

We're going to move our plurality stuff to our side site eventually (the-novelry), so it's not going away! It's just getting moved. And the rest of the charm of the site should remain as-is. Not going to remove the royal "we," just gonna have a different explanation for it.
