alright, getting things back on track for the new year. once i have adhd meds i'm sure i'll be able to manage this easier with my schoolwork. chatbox will still be disabled for the time being and i still plan on moving to a new webhost when possible, not sure where just yet though

what i'm going to say here is be as disruptive as possible if you can. be loud and be annoying. know it will not just affect you but also your friends, the family you love, so many minorities in the US and so many people outside of it. the US is an imperialist superpower and it sure as hell will shake up the rest of the world, Especially those the US isn't allied with

there is hope and there will always be hope. do not give up. if possible please for the love of god get involved in your local communities. be as vocal about your displeasure as possible, even if you live outside of the US. check if your ballot was even counted (https://www.vote.org/ballot-tracker-tools/). this kind of environment thrives on fear and doom, please don't fall into there

we need to fight to live more then ever, so please stand your ground, community is a huge key as well. if possible i'll send resources for safe abortion and hrt if possible. look after your community allies and be as kind or even cordial as possible with them, hate is another way they want you to give up. DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU DOWN, FIGHT FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

if you're stuck being unable to do any of these things because of your family/social circumstances (especially as a kid/teen) i'll say again: please do not lose hope. we will be okay no matter how hard it'll take to fight, and please find ways to survive in your own household like staying with friends or finding someone safe you Know you can talk to. please don't give up, and don't hurt yourself

good news, i'm able to work on the site move again for a little bit. i'm not exactly safe right now but i'm getting to that point soon. hopefully with the time on mobile (since that's what i'll be stuck on for a while) i can commit more time to blog posts. i still won't be as active as i used to since i'm committing to school and art, but i hope you can be patient with that

hi. site move will be delayed for a good while and i'm on hiatus from the site indefinitely, i don't know how long yet. i "escaped" an abusive household (long story) and i didn't bring my laptop with me (it can barely run anymore so there was no point left in bringing it) and my pc remains at that house so i can't access desktop anymore. thanks for sticking with me during these long waits, i'll come back soon

i'm starting my moving process at nekoweb https://mikufan3939.nekoweb.org/. i haven't added anything more then what was on my neocities site besides edits about my move. i'll be changing urls for my webrings and fanlistings when possible. if anyone is moving their hosts, let me know and i'll update the urls on my button wall when i can

question, is there a specific reason lots of people are moving over there other than it having nice benefits :? I'm considering it but i feel like sending everything over there would be somewhat of a hassle for me lol

tldr kyle drake made a blog post praising AI that a lot of people were uncomfortable with (including myself) and as such i don't really want to keep my site here anymore. i'll keep up with people who do stay but i'm simply not comfortable here personally

i really don't appreciate this comment, it isn't funny at all. i have my thoughts on the matter you brought up but it isn't relevant to this discussion at hand, so simply: no. they aren't on the same level. i don't know how you saw my writing about how AI has affected my life and self esteem as an artist and you found that funny. fuck you

ok to clarify because I forgot it: Vocaloid isn't gen AI, because V6 does technically use a type of AI. I forgot to mention that part.

@visualculture it's not even an "easy way out". Vocaloid requires literal hours of tuning and skill-crafting. It's not very user-friendly a lot of times, and it's not as easy as it may seem. It's a dreadful software to use sometimes.

@visualculture again, i don't know why you attached this random thought to my very personal writing about how i feel about AI as an artist that relies on it for income. it isn't an easy way out if it's the most accessible option to access a singer, pirated or otherwise. it has rarely been an easy way out if the culture itself revolves around the inherent love of the character and the medium

even so, the vocaloid sense of relying on a vocalist compared to, say, someone using an AI voice generator is insanely different. you put in the effort to shape the sound, keys, pitching, and other parameters however you wish as you need, similar to working with a typical piano synthesizer. the changing of a voicebank is more similar to a plugin then it is to generating a voice
