i am leaving the same words here too bc why not - i ended up on "Last Words" on your site a while ago and completely forgot to comment on it - i love the flow of it and how all the little details just slot into so much vivid domestic tragedy. these lines like "pulling your abstinence by the whiskers with my glass of scotch" go down so cleanly <3

Hi! :) And yeah, it's a weird and ridiculous film, but I feel that it never reaches a point where it's alienating or lessers the impact of the more emotional scenes. That's really why I love it: there's so much going on, it's all over the place tonally and pacing wise, but somehow, it works. Perfectly. it's monumental. It feels so full of life. idk

Oh I wasn't knocking the movie. Whatever its faults, I DID watch the whole thing in one sitting which I can say about no other movie of that length. It's fun and involving, and a true original. I've filed it under 'torture porn' but I'm a bit of a gentle flower that way.

I have just finished the Bomb story and I really enjoyed it. My favourite bits were: 1) descriptions of the pre-Unification museums which made me think of Pamuk's Musem of Innocence in Istanbul; 2) "Telling, sometimes, is to watch someone, and to not pretend you weren’t looking when they notice."

Re internet memory #2: interesting that you mention creating lots of accounts. The author of the article you linked to mentions not bothering to feed her Neopets as a kid since they couldn't die. Maybe I'm the sensitive kid here. I could never! The Pound was a constant heartache for me, just its bare existence :)

The pound was so sad!! Sounds contradictory but I didn't care that much for the pet aspect of the game... I liked to explore, play games and attempt to make lots of neopoints. However, I HATED seeing the sad/sick pictures so I kept my current pets fed/healthy, but out of sight, out of mind I guess lol

(thought i could add newlines to comments, apparently not). i have a few sort of formulas for outfits that i wear (all black for concerts, jeans and shirts for day-to-day, etc), and because i have these formulas the pieces i own and buy tend to be more versatile; so i even with less of them i can end up with a decent number of combinations. but say i have a fuchsia jacket (i do), i probably wouldn't [...]

[...] get another jacket in that colour, and any clothes i consider part of the same formula also couldn't be that colour, or couldn't be say forest green because that wouldn't be a great combination (in my opinion; no judgement if that's your favourite outfit). so there isn't an actual numeric cap, but the things i need or can justify get limited based on what else i own. does that make sense?
