You can at the very least assume it reliably for the ads. Tumblr really be the only place accepting ads like *that*

Every few months or so I find that tumblr really tries to push a lot of accounts that upload AI art/videos in my feed, and every time I'm either able to clock it immediately or I get suspicious and most of the comments confirm that it's AI. Either way, those account gets blocked.

could say the same about duckduckgo's search results at this point. noai.duckduckgo.com exists but it barely filters out anything, there's just far too much slop being mass-produced by the second for them to ever keep up

hacker news is particularly funny (and depressing) now, i swear i saw at least three "ai bad" blog posts on the front page this week that were so obviously written by claude

the subheading and em-dash spam, lists of threes everywhere, "it's not just x, it's y" and especially this punchy "not x. not y. just good old-fashioned z." crap. drives me fucking nuts

a few years ago my teachers were begging us to use deepl instead of google translate and now when i use deepl for english im like huh. thats not right. idk if there are any other decent translators and spellcheckers out there without genAI :/

As for translators, if you don't use one with machine learning (which rn will all be using LLMs since this is the best use case for them) then you're gonna sit with dictionary-based translators such as linguee and google translate, which dont work well for sentences but are better for words on their own

just looked at the website again, jesus christ that's VERY different from when i last used it. i'll be going back permanently to dictionary-based translators, gonna have to adjust my internet guide too
