Thanks, I tried to combine a bit of Y2K, Vaporwave, Skeumorphism, and CD-ROM games to get it looking like that. It was all hand drawn and then rendered out in illustrator using the effects like plastic wrap and gradients. Haven't touched that program since, lol. Ripping each asset individually and piecing it together was interesting but I didn't take that much code knowledge. I wanna get better at html + css!!!!

Aaha I'm still waiting to make something thats just as creative. I need someone to kick my ass to make something like this again. It was such a nice feeling seeing it come together. I wanna make an actual website like yours someday, its so cozy and aesthetically pleasing!

thats so kind, thank you so much. Its honestly great to hear that its reaching out to you in that way. I was hoping, while making it back in 2021-2022, for it to embody some essence of the old internet, hoping for people to see it and as a reminder of what the internet can be if it is surrounded by inspiration, community, creativity, and a load of other things lol. Neocities is a great community of inspiration

I made the design even simpler. I was originally going for one of those no background, all Times New Roman style webpages (basically no style at all) but ended up with this. I might revisit that idea.

inspired by yesterweb community and the dekopon magazine. Will be working on a small collective of friends to start, hopefully, a pool of circulating inspiration and motivation. Will update some stuff through here. Personal website put on hold to focus on creating a website for the collective named "Play Mat Kids".
