i thought about the nun thing recently and i think you can live whatever spiritual lifestyle you please to whatever amount of devotion you want. just because you're of a more eclectic path doesn't mean you aren't entitled to the safety and providing that is rightfully yours as a concious being

Your comments on spirituality were very interesting, and I'll confess, relatable. For a good majority of my life I felt a loneliness that's been very hard to describe, but it's only been until recently through journaling and creative writing where it's finally started to dissipate. For me, I've been wondering if I'm fictionkin, but I'm not entirely sure of it yet. (1)

Your comments about spirituality/religion being used more as a source to control/harm others rather than a guiding light I found poignant, and it's difficult to find examples of it where it's not worsening mental health. Thank you for the interest read, it's given me a lot to think about! (2)

ADDITIONAL NOTE: i was immediately hooked by the introduction mentioning how some found themselves drawn in by it and had no reason why. touhou has been a major hyperfixation for years, nothing has outlasted it and with my realizations of Being Witch is Cool i can see how an element of spiritual power contributed to how consistent my love and attention for the series.

ADDITIONAL ADDITIONAL NOTE: i realize there is only a single other piece of media which has kept me as enraptured by it as touhou to the degree of its caliber. that of which is umineko when they cry, judging from the things ive heard about the themes it dabbles with (havent finished even episode 1 of the VN, read the whole manga at first), suddenly it makes a LOT of sense why only these two have kept my attention.

I have only watched the Umineko anime a long time ago, but I have a friend who has played all of the VNs and they apparently get very much occult at some point.

id say it leans way way more into spiritual themes than occult, despite the presence of witches and magic. a lot of it revolves around some really interesting themes of belief!! id say its magical in subject matter, but the text itself is more tantamount to scripture... i remember watching some dusty old youtube guy who reviewed mostly classic literature talk about reading umineko and despite him not seeming (CONT.)

(CONT.) very spiritual himself, the amount of reverence he showed speaking of the texts would make ya think otherwise!! from what ive heard the final episode cranks it up by a LOT, thats where i hear folks say it changed their belief system fundamentally. it seems like a very very potent work, one day ill read it through...

heya! i dont use neocities like i used to back in the day (one day if i have more mana [aka just having some fucking energy to Do Things] i may make this site anew...), but i found your site via the awesome touhou list!! im a practicing witch and just want to thank you for all insight given by this webpage!!! even early in, just learning more about eastern spiritual stuff has been HUGE for me!! (cont.) i really value.. human feeling wisdom? academic texts, religious texts still are good for study, but something feels much more resonant when it feels like a human speaking on my level rather than an ascended guru or dry scholar!! dont even get me started on how finding writings like this is IMPOSSIBLE through things like search engines, which only show bloated, corporate articles ridden with ads bleugh!!!
