i feel like it's not really a problem FOR NOW, but it is pretty scary to think about what else goverment might push. maybe it is just a beginning.

Its global-ish, the UK is just the first to act, but the US, EU and AUS have all announced very similar policies. This comes right at the same time the American credit card duopoly decides they can restrict what games are sold. There's a thread on Xitter regarding GOSRN which is apparently a global initative. They'll come for VPNs next.
