Re: the April 3rd update (I think your profile was disabled at the time), subvocalizing is imo the best way to read for actual enjoyment, for the exact reasons you say: you need to hear the author speaking in your head to really feel what they're communicating. The people who are against it are all deep in the speed-reading world, which I'm sure has advantages for certain types of reading, but...

…you shouldn’t let them make you feel bad. Also, I relate to that weird loneliness that comes after spending a long time with someone. I feel it less now that I have a girlfriend who is always here when I come home, but when she goes on business trips it’s weird how desolate it suddenly feels here. Writing definitely helps — it feels like planting seeds for future connections and communications

relatable, it feels like making friends is pointless to me because there's always this time when they disappear and i'm just... back how it was before i even met them. it's llike it's entirely pointless if they're not going to be t here for me 100% of the time

@niicespiice Yeah, people coming and going is really difficult. I don’t personally find it pointless if somebody eventually leaves though. Painful? Very. But I’m usually grateful to have had the connection, though I’ve had some really bitter endings

Such good advice for writing fanfic in here. Or, really, writing anything. It has to hold your interest and you need to cut yourself some slack in order to be truly creative. I've read some stuff where the author had clearly given up and was just barfing words onto the page. Not fun.

ooff same. everytime i try reading a fiction book, my brain stays engaged for a few pages, and then before i realise it i've turned 15 page without reading anything. as i'm backtracking, i realise i never really read anything before that either and i just shut the book and give up.

Ah, I'm just now noticing your "Establishing an online support network" post. Consider me absolutely delighted. Perhaps I'm a little vain too, but I love acknowledgements of each other's, anyone's, pages-- our words and our works-- that we exist to each other. i remember seeing a comic someone drew for tumblr a while back (a fricken DECADE ago) that said "the most important filter is the photographer" and it was a table with one clean space amidst a wreck of a room. that hit. online authenticity has /never/ been authentic :(

OHHHH SAME. i don't feel safe being 100% authentic with some things. i just allude to them. however i generally think i'm an honest person on my site, i go into pretty deep parts of my minmdset i guess. just not the full way. because im worried its illegal or smth (PROBABLY IS)

thanks for all the likes so far i been sick again last few months with covid hell and one thing after another knee replacement surgery is hopefully april 3rd now... so when i feel up to stuff after healing i have planned to redo crystal ball idea that code isnt working and put a answers card spot in its place cus i know that code works lol but that will be some time i am still focused on healing but enjoy!

your thoughts on idolism's effects on an inferiority complex hit hard. i do the same exact thing. i always think of everyone as infinitely better than me in every way, and on low days, that always leads to trouble. it's been the hardest conceit for me to get rid of.

never meet ur heroes or at least be very careful!!! a friend and i admin this server for my current hugest fav who himself strolled into there the other week so spontaneously it's crazy, been having to temper myself a bit HAHA but handling it much better than 12yo me or even 22yo me would. the internet can be crazy w these directish connections sometimes
