i've done that in the past and it feels like a more positive experience since i've come across some interesting sites (and also checking some of the source code so i know how to do things if i ever want to)

I quit social media a couple months ago too, so I totally get a lot of what you're talking about. The satisfaction won't come at once but eventually you realize you're more aware of what YOU want instead of what you think you should want. Good luck!

I also relate hard to this... I have started by turning off all notifications from Facebook and Messenger apps, and try to use only when I'm at my computer. The mindless scrolling is such a waste of time, I'm just really trying to be present at all times. But it's not easy. But like you said, it will get easier over time. It's the initial change that's the hardest. Hang in there!

@hekate i'm at the stage where i reach out for my phone only to realise that the apps aren't there anymore, but eventually, i'll get used to it (i even went as far as blocking the default browser on my phone to stop wasting time online).

@hekate (i accidentally sent the comment too early) i feel like social media has influenced me way too much to the point that i personally don't know what i want since i'm always seeing things that i think i should want, which i find to be really confusing and overwhelming as well. i think the hard bit is to actually stay off social media because it feels like i'm out of the loop at the moment

@sweethard666 i've tried turning off notifications for all social media in the past, but i end up looking at it more, so my only choice is to delete the apps and set strict limits on myself and i also didn't realise how much time i wasted on scrolling through the internet, now to cut down mindless browsing as well.

What do you know? It looks like I'm unconsciously turning into a pescatarian! (I had to double check in the dictionary since I've never heard that word before.) 🤓 Although I would not refuse a plate with meat, I can't cook it myself anymore as the cooking smells make me loose all appetite before it gets on the table... 😭
