Feign is good friends with Roxelle (almost personal basis) and while Feign had followed the Roxellle anti-pedo account, Feign remains friends with Roxelle on MyAnimeList and Spacehey (if my memory serves me right).

ive known feign before, specifically when the original (private) information about cakie came out. no, feign is not a pedophile, and the entire time has wanted nothing to do with cakie since finding out. iirc feign just doesnt use spacehey or esp animelist very often /gen

its also important to note that out of the blogs on this site who used to be friends with cakie, i dont think feign was actually very close with her. like they were friends, but there were other members of this site that were much closer with cakie than feign.

Cool topic, though I agree with you on the notion that Evangelion is quite derivative, something that is quite obvious if you've seen some anime, and no doubt very intnentional. I do find your points of comparison... odd? I'm not going after your opinion on Rahxephon or Nadesico being better, that's a fair opinion

(although i fail to see how Nadesico is all that simmilar beyond being the "deconstruction" of mecha tropes people wrongfully ascribe to NGE). What made me scratch my head are the other comparisons like Votoms, which I really fail to see a sensible comparison to (I find Votom’s themes on fatalism and free will a lot more interesting then it’s focus on war).

If you’re making the effort to point out simmilarities I would much rather direct my attention to Go Nagai’s work which is pretty overtly referenced in the show, as well as other Yoshiyuki Tomino anime (that aren’t Dunbine) like Gundam and Ideon, anime that Anno himself have admitted influenced NGE greatly, hell you have a tokusatsu page on your site right? Ultraman can be very relevant here.

Secondly one could also note a link to Macross, though not something I personally see all that well in the work itself Anno did work on DYRL so that might be noteworthy perhaps? Not at all trying to be critical, but I felt I should point it out. Cheers

I gave it a read. If the AI gets advanced enough I see potential for it to be used as a cheaper alternative for a lot of corporate art, but it will probably be looked on with the same distaste that people have gotten for the alegria/facebook blob people art. never enough to replace the need for visual artists

It's funny you bring up photography at the end there, with every new thing that comes along there are those who are afraid it will wholeheartedly erase the need for existing tech/craftsmenship (ie. movies will destroy live theatre), and I wonder now how much of that is manufactured to have people turn to AI-generated material. An artist's input like yours is what I want to hear most, but probably covered the least.

thanks fox & kultra. i can see the frustration that a lot of artists have with AI art (especially because it's the latest techbro shill) but id hate for such a cool channel to go wasted if we let corporate bodies takeover the thing
