I decided to remove the scrollboxes on the paired shrines, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not... It's annoying to maneuver (especially on mobile), but now both are super TL;DR.

I think shrines are by default "tldr," they're meant to be hyper autistic spergs of pure passion. I think it's wise to prioritise design and accessibility in this case.. but if u change your mind you can always put them back!!!

BTW, the WIP for a rune about G3 has been staring at me in the face for months. My deadline was going to be on Halloween until I got sick and my shifts changed, then I bumped it to Christmas. I might just wait for when my two weeks are up to finish it!!!
I keep forgetting to mention this but weeks ago I found out an art site I used and had good experiences with in middle school is still online and has been revamped. I made an account and uploaded some recent art; I don't draw often anymore so I'm not as active as I could be, but for those who are tired of dA's bullshit, I think Side7 has potential to repopulate. https://www.side7.com/

Capybara art was one of my first pages I tried to optimize, but when coding offline the images broke for some reason :( It should be compatible on mobile/smaller windows now though.

This was using the layout I made (notably for Charizard1246 and the Favs shrine) and I notice how much of the code is kinda busted lol... Well I'm learning, hopefully I'll make more layouts by myself later.

yeah, it seems like iβm younger than you, but i also really miss the online ecosystem from when i was a kidβ¦ the ffn forums, deviantart, my specific little hellish corner of tumblrβ¦ looking back at those places, itβs like a ghost town of broken links and conversations where i donβt recognize myself. the recent shutdown of omegle and the news about tumblr is also getting to me, the impermanence of it allβ¦

@daughterofbilitis I've been trying to figure out how exactly this happened, because even in the mid-late 2010s it wasn't that bad! Even after Facebook was introduced and LJ users migrated to Tumblr there were still active pockets on other sites, but after lockdown it seems more people abandoned those... Even some Japanese fanart sites still online moved to Twitter.

love the Ivy shrine. I know absolutely nothing about Fire Emblem (played part of one game when I was in high school, couldn't tell you which because that was...ha...awhile ago...) but I just like the way you write about things + the level of detail + presentation of such. happy belated birthday Ivy!

omg I actually had a copy of FE7 in high school, back when Gamestop had used DS and GBA games on display... I'm shocked it's interesting to someone unfamiliar because I assumed only people familiar would look, but I did add spoiler tags for a reason.

I think making regrettable statements online is like a rite of passage for anyone growing up in a technological world. At least in our case, we don't have our real names or faces attached, unlike the legions of kids dancing ironically to songs with slurs in them on TikTok...
