they're webp files i got from a reliable wiki/saved myself so id hope they have no exploits LOL ... id b worried if someone wanted to download ... character images i put up in webp...
haha squoosh is what i actually use for mine and i have it linked in my credits, alongside pnggauntlet as an actual app (though squoosh does a better job, pnggauntlet is just good for a massive one in one go)
oh I'm glad you've tried pnggauntlet! I saw they aren't updating anymore but it's still good to use? I was thinking about downloading it but I like that I can use squoosh with my ipad, where all my digital drawings are haha
still good!! does what it needs to and nukes pngs down to be smaller; i mostly use it just for like my stamp collections since a chunk of those are PNGs
taking notes on this whole convo. I'm using webp for images that I don't think people will want to download, but never thought to try squish the rest of my pngs
@leizy8499 @zhongvie What exploit? `:|c I've been using webp on bg images and such since out teacher told us it's the smallest size and good for websites (she kind of ridiculed me for using pngs;;;)
i would be careful and look to see if that webp exploit still exists :(
do it, you can also torture the people trying to download those pics

I’ve started looking into webp files too. In the meantime I found this cool site that works in-browser to compress images: https://squoosh.app/
