If u need a vpn rn and dont want to pay, proton vpn is a good option! its free and safe,can confirm. Be careful if your using free VPN they could be using your computer for crypto mining or DDOS attack.

Tor is also a good option, you can install it in both your phone and on your computer.

Also recommended--Whonix in VirtualBox. Just gotta setup a shared folder to export downloads.

Also I cannot recommend Proton and its services enough! The only caveat is the limited free plan space, but for oldweb types, this should be manageable. I sometimes email people on here out of the blue if they've got a Proton, just to connect off-platform.

i've been running proton vpn for a while now and I can absolutely vouch, it's pretty good for a free VPN! Proton Mail is great too.
