I think noise music is widely misunderstood, yet fairly criticized. The appeal (for me) is the performance art aspect of it. This alone is a thick filter for people with low tolerance for pretentious art pieces. This is understandable. Noise is inherently raw and vulnerable. Itโs less concerned with showing people a good time.
i feel like each noise act is very different and has a lot of personality that rarely shines from the sound alone there are a few local talents that come to mind but noise definitely has conventions to it like all genres

@axayacatl ngl I likely wouldnโt bump noise at home or in the car, but when I see noise live Iโm completely locked in, mesmerized, and bewildered.
i feel the same - esp regarding the difference between the live experience and just listening at home!
Noise/ambient music is fun to experience in real life. Itโs also fun to make (for me, anyway).
