You always review something worth discovery! I love Iwano's murals in Expo 85, so I'm interested to play Shining Flower. My cousin beat the Swordquest trilogy over the course of 4 years ('87-'90); I beat 0 of them over the course of 20. Those are great games, but I also wish that the gameplay didn't deviate during development* so far from that of Adventure.

Ahh thank you so much, your site looks really good too!! I don't have a button yet because I'm too lazy but I hope I can get around to make one someday T_T

Whacked is trash, but I have fond memories of playing it with a close friend almost a score ago. The characters look as stupid as their representations of capital vices; I distinctly remember rolling my eyes at that conceit.

In contrast, Neugier is great; I played it with an ex and couldn't comprehend much (I can't read kana); years later, I tackled the translated ROM. It's a trifle too easy, but as cute as buttons....I loved it.

How you so often paragraph assessments of old and new games in which I've taken a recent interest is uncanny.

I'm happy to hear that! Which ones were the games this last time and what did you think about them?

I remember playing Tokimeki Memorial in '97, stupidly opining that its impact would never extend beyond the Japanese market. Dumb!
I need to get around to Madou Monogatari 3 at some point myself, I played the first two last year. I remember finding Madou 2 especially hilarious so glad to hear the comedy was kept up for its followup hgfhjk
