Are you sure you want to do this?
when a webhost starts playing morality police, it's time to head for the hills. at what point do you suppose SFW gay content is going to be unwelcome there too? or LGBTQ visibility of any kind?
i guess what i'm getting at is: if neocities ends up with AI on it, i'm just going to shut my site down and fade into the night. nekoweb is no longer an acceptable alternative.
It's so extremely disheartening, when I emailed them about it the explanation I got boiled down to "We don't want to put the extra work into moderating real life NSFW content therefore we ban it all together"
Yeesh. I will be pulling the Bytemind site I made on nekoweb off of there if that's how they wanna do stuff. Don't wanna host links to my stuff on a site with mods like that.
Their own acceptable usage policy states "No NSFW content on your index page (the page that shows in the site preview). You will need to create a welcome page that warns users of possible NSFW content." and "No NSFW content in your site box." Did your friend break either of those rules or are they genuinely missusing their own power?
If they are abusing their power I'd make sure to let them know that their actions and AUP don't match up and call them hypocritics for it.
@gremlin, I am the friend in question my splash page had no NSFW content whatsoever I made sure of it, buttt if you scroll all the way to the bottom of their rules and terms of use it says "No real life pornography" Right next to things like "No gore" and "No illegal content"
i dont have a nekoweb site so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but id imagine that nekoweb would take down sites with straight nsfw stuff too. if thats true then idk how the nsfw work being gay has to do with anything.
@krystalspalace See I can come up with a ton of reasons why they would want to ban porn but all that logic falls flat when they treat it like that. It would be much better if they took a stance one way or the other rather then trying to meet a halfway point.
