Every six months I reopen my project to clean up the sorter code and go "oh pshhhh this is easy, why did I never finish it" and then over the next two days realize why I still haven't finished it

Making it work isn't all that hard, is the thing. But basically all the good sorting algorithms are structured in a weird repetitive way which is not fun to do. And I only remember this 65% through implementation every time

the only tmbg i've heard is Flood, a cover of Birdhouse by Lemon Demon, and Weird Al's "Everything You Know Is Wrong" (which was in the style of TMBG) and I've liked it all. Where would you recomend I go next

im not bluef00t, sorry, but i am another big tmbg fan. you should check out flood first, or the pink album, which is their self titled debut. if you enjoy it id say just go chronologically. also, weird als style parody sounds a lot more like their first two albums in my opinon.

John Henry (1996) is when they transitioned from just two guys and a drum machine to a full band. That's probably their second biggest "original hit" album after Flood. If you're interested in what they're up to more recently, I really like I Like Fun (2018) or Nanobots (2013). If you like the original duo sound more, there's Lincoln (1988) and Apollo 18 (1992), which are Definitely what Weird Al was riffing on.

I started an ambitious project to get everything into different folders and subfolders, with a breadcrumb along the top... but so many things go in multiple categories! And so many things are completely random and placeless...

I'm just as lost as you are about it. I've wanted to change my site to make it navigated like a physical space, like a point and click or something, because the idea is fascinating to me, but haven't taken the leap due to accessibility concerns.

i found being strict with the structure of my sites always resulted in limiting the type of new pages and content. if things don't fit in it was easier to abandon the idea than to restructure.

i am tempted to just put everything in a single folder sometimes, get into naming conventions instead of being lost in folders

Everything goes in a folder labelled stuff then is listed on a page also called stuff. I like having coherent organization to some extent, but if I try to nest things too much I'm just going to get organization/decision paralysis!

Link everything on the front page, with the very occasional subsite for more sprawling projects/things. I do sometimes fantasise about having a fancy fantasy map up front but that's probably never going to happen

I do try never to go more than two levels deep; satyrs.eu/alpha is fine, satyrs.eu/alpha/bravo is fine, but once you're in satyrs.eu/alpha/bravo/charlie territory it gets unwieldy
