i started using a website blocker on social media websites so i stop checking first thing in the morning and it's intersting how just that makes me pretty uninterested to check even when it gets unblocked later in the day

I'm nervous about reading this book but your review (the spoiler-free one) makes it sound OK. I'll have to get my hands on it somehow! My libraries can't get an ILL for it though so I might have to just buy a copy...

similarly I find a lot of my social media habits are dependent on automatic actions. so I wake up in the morning and automatically look at my phone. that was a good idea to do a blocker first thing!
same!! sometimes i end up on that "website blocked" page without even realizing it, it is such an automatic habit. its good to have some resistance and have a moment to think about what i rather be doing
