allow them to wander about the house. If keeping rabbits in a confined space isn't good for them, why do people think that it's OK for dogs?
Had a family member who thought every pet we had was ~unclean~ and hated that they could make messes, even if it was easy to clean up after them. I hated getting pets because she'd find any reason to cast them outside in those tiny crates/cages and they'd eventually miserably waste away and no one can oppose her narcissistic tyranny. She also refused to understand any of that was bad for them. It was depressing.
Worst thing is, she showed up MANY years after we had cats, then tossed them all out in cages (PERSIAN CATS in the Saudi heat!!!), or she'd be fine with a rabbit wanderig at first, then no, cage only, and the poor rabbit got blisters that got infected because it was confined to this area with stairs and no rug or soft anything to tread on. Just so much horrific imposed neglect.
It's just awful. Some people build an outdoor cattery in the garden if they don't want the cat to roam around. Even over here, cats are horribly neglected because people just let them out to wander, don't bother having their vaccines done, don't have them neutered or spayed, so they end up living half wild and forming feral colonies, or people just allow them to over breed so there are loads around the house. Without
proper veterinary care, they become really sick or spread disease among themselves. It's very sad. The catteries are great if they are constructed properly and cleaned regularly, but not everyone has the resources or space to build them. Rabbits aren't very easy to care for, either, because they need a lot more than people think they need, and a lot of the housing you can get for them is poor quality, and rots very
easily. We also have foxes (I don't blame them, because it's not their fault,) that can get to them if the housing for them isn't secured. People also abandon them quite regularly, too, especially at this time of year. People get them for their children, but the children stop caring for them when they go back to school, weather becomes nasty, so no one wants to clean them out. I no longer have any 'caged' animals
because we don't have the room to care for them. I wish people were more thoughtful before they get animals, make sure that they have everything the animal needs and can continue to care for them right before they get them, and that companies making things for animals were more regulated so that they make better products for them. I even have to be careful about the toys that I get Max because he can easily chew
through them. Kong toys are about the only ones I find now that are tough enough to hold up to his chewing. The quality of dog toys seem to have got worse since the '90's, not better.
it's usually full of Christmas designs until the edition that comes out in January, and there is only so much festive stuff I can take. I also have lots of mags from 10 years ago that had lots of Christmas designs in them so I don't really want any more, unless there is a design that really catches my eye, which sometimes (but rarely) happens.
And I am also sure that their employees have better things to do than look you up on social media to see what your beliefs are. (And it's kind of strange, too, since, as it's a US cross stitch supplier, I always get the impression from the designs that you commonly come across that most people who cross stitch in the US have a Conservative persuasion since there are a lot of patriotic,
religious and hunting themes in the designs. It's a strange viewpoint to have.
taken him on. Mostly, he was just bored and scared because he'd been locked up on his own for hours on end, and sometimes behaved like he'd been mistreated. I just hope none of these folks have kids, or need to care for a chronically ill/elderly relative because if they can't cope with a puppy, they wouldn't be able to cope with that. Most of these 'issues' that dogs have are dogs just being dogs and the problem is
I'm convinced most people are incapable of empathy. Most symptoms of autism that autistic children and adults are punished for are also obvious signs of being mistreated. People expect everyone to be perfect and then brutally kick their maladies under the rug if they aren't.
If not lacking in empathy, I think people can certainly disregard the feelings and welfare of other people (and animals) when it suits them to do so.
If Amazon have their own brand of art supplies that help people out who are short on money, can't get to the shops because of the pandemic, etc, then is there any need to complain? They are just very good at providing a service so people can get hold of items which would be hard to come by otherwise. For over a year now, I have been confined to my small village and none of the shops stock a good range of art supplies
and stationary, at least not that which would be helpful to an artist. The company is a life line for people who are vulnerable.
I detest Amazon for how they exploit their workers and small businesses, but I admit they're a life-saver for a lot of things, namely books like you said. It seems like physical stores only stock "safe" mainstream books, not the things I actually like to read. That and as a male that wears a lot of pink, Amazon is pretty much the only place I can find clothing I actually like.
It's been years since I found a decent bookshop. The good independent ones have either closed, or are too far away. As for high street chains, the only /real/ bookshop that I've been in has been Blackwells in Oxford. The local library I find has pretty much either dumbed down its collection, has damaged books in it (seriously, I stopped checking books out because people had torn pages out of them so you couldn't read
them properly) or they don't have what I want. Wasn't always that way but the last time I looked in the zoology section, the books there should have been in the children's section, not the adults!
when I have to stare it at when I'm not working.) But the tower is a lucky find.
Colin at the beginning of the month, practically on the same day a year apart) and Misty in the middle of the month a year after losing Colin. I'm trying to reset it so that I feel better about things, but it's frustrating.

art tutorials, etc, rather than just endless 'what I bought' videos. I don't have the technical knowledge (or confidence) to make my own videos, would like to share ones which I've found useful.
There is also a site called Skillshare which seems to be good at encouraging people to try new things but that requires a subscription. These don't, so they might be more helpful to those who can't afford to sign up to subscription sites.
