I enjoy weird 2000s anime comedies (BoBoBo, Dojin Work, Ramen Fighter Miki, The World of Narue, etc.), but cannot stand more moe-centered anime (Haruhi Suzumiya, et al.). I just found it a little bit odd. If anyone could explain to me the appeal of Haruhi Suzumiya and similar anime, then please tell me.

Moe is something where if you get it, you get it. Either is makes you go aww so cute and funny i love these girls <33 or it makes you cringe. It's cute girls doing silly cute things

I do like "silly" anime, like Crayon Shin-chan because of how silly the series is (not the show to have your parents walk in on, despite being a kids show in most parts of the world). Moe is where it is anime girls and that is pretty much the entire "joke" of the series. It is "fan-service" of a more covert variety, in a sense.

If you're looking for some literature, I'd reccommend getting a copy of The Moe Manifesto by Patrick Galbreith. It's a pretty decent introduction to moe/waifu culture and history

i thought i was losing my mind when i saw the blue checkmarks on here last night, guess neocities decided to do a little silly
I'm finally moving browsers to Firefox and have been going thru my bookmarks one by one because I'm a /major/ bookmark hoarder, and want to /not/ be anymore. I bookmark a lot of random sites and programs I'm interested in and never find again, so I'm just sharing the goods with the world on the library page now :d
