Hellooo :3 looked at your code! The main issue stems from how you position things on your website. you are manually positioning articles using margins but for responsive design this isn’t ideal because while visually your website is broken up into different sections, the browser can’t see that and oesn’t know how to scale things :( outside of the header at the top, there are three columns with the left and right
lets take the left column. If we put that in its own div with a set width we can add stuff and everything will still be top down with space in-between and trapped inside the same width and your browser knows how to scale or what to scaled relative to. Also I would recommend taking all uses of pixels out and replace it with em, %, or vh/vw
Sorrryyyy that was really long explanation. I did exactly what I described on my website using flex boxes with a center section and two columns on each side of the same with (so like the exact same) please feel free to look at and take my code and use it and reply if I didn’t explain anything well >.<
@kingdomofakibaten thank u very much but ... that pic isnt actually referencing my current code .. it was for my wip in visual studio (o╭╮o) 🥺 im sorry
https://pastebin.com/E0nyWmr6 this is the actual thing i was working with >.< i feel so bad haha
i see sorry about that >w< I looked over your code and I think for responsive design there are two places you can start: switch all px to rem (which is px/16) and consider implementing a more organized layout in the code. Right now everything inside mainBox is positioned relative to one another and all have the same parent (mainbox) this means that If I delete navBox or any article everything moves.
there is already a somewhat defined colum layout for your site. You have a big center column and a colum on each side that are the same size we can still use mainbox here but then we can separate all the articles on the left into a div class = left and same for the center and the right and then define how each of those is positioned relative to one another (the best way here is usually flex)
we can define the width of lets say the left column and now something like navbox is only positioned relative to whats about and below it because div class = left is already positioned relative to the center
This way if we delete navbox it will only remove it from the column but because the column has the same width nothing else on the page moves except whats below navbox gets moved up. I implemented this on my website using flex if you would like to look :3 it makes everything much easier to work with and less precariously positioned because an element is positioned relative to one thing instead of a bunch of things
I carried a bunch of nuts and cones and they slowed me down. I buried them and it made me sing. I ate a nut and I was stuffed, then I shared one with a nuthatch, and fell asleep on a branch. 10/10 squirrel game update.
my code page is a MESS... i tried to fix it and its a lot better than before but ive just been putting it off because its such a headache
I picked up nuts and cones until my little hands were full, and then I buried them. 10/10 game

i told some friends (more like shoved the site in their face) when i first made it because i was so excited about it, but i'm assuming it's not something they think to look at if i'm not around, and i'm hesitant to bring it up to people now for the same reasons as you, + it's nice to sort of write into the void with no fear of consequences
Only my best friend knows about it and I ask that she doesn't read any of my writing whenever I send her a link. It's much easier to write/publish to strangers and bear your soul than to those you know. I don't think it's uncommon we don't want our sites percieved by people we know :) for me, it's just way too vulnerable and honest for Kevin from work to be reading it, y'know?
ive told a few friends i have a site, as well as my mom, but i've never showed them. one of my teachers knows as well bc i was working on it when we had some time left in class, but i prefer to keep it my little project where i can experiment and express myself :)
i haven’t shared this site or some of my social media with anyone i know personally. there’s something comforting about having little spaces that are just mine, quiet corners where i can just be, without the weight of expectations or questions. it’s peaceful and i think i need that sometimes
Hmmmm i have it linked on my instagram and a few friends have mentioned it irl but as I've wanted to talk about more and more personal stuff anonymously i've considered taking it off
my close friends read my blog, but it's because i left social media and this is the only place where i post online now. i do find myself self censoring just a little bit, but the people irl already have a good idea of who i am internally and have seen me on worse days
i probably have around 7 people who know this site exists? and, honestly, i wish it was only 1 or 2 of them hahaha. you do risk having to censor yourself way more when you share it with others, but i was proud of what i made & it isn't the end of the world
For me I have my site linked to only 1 social media site, I doubt most of my friends look at it. I only had 1 friend really talk to me about the contents of my blog lol. I'm thinking of taking it off in the future for similar reasons to you
i've mentionned it to like 2 friends but thankfully they haven't asked for a link. knowing that they can see what i put on my site would make me self-censor A LOT more than i already do.
only my closest friends know about my blog because a few of us have talked about writing our own. we're all true to each other and don't really have to make face. besides them, i have it linked under one of my profiles online - it really doesn't matter what people think of me, both online and in person. i understand where you're coming from though.
oh man. i don't think i've ever shown or told anyone about mine. i consider my blog to be more like a public facing diary... everything i want people to see goes elsewhere.
