Shamefully, I've owned Super Mario Odyssey for quite some time and only played for about an hour (if that), but seeing you posting about it makes me feel like I should give it an honest try.
Super Mario Bros (93) and The Magnificent Ambersons are very similar in that they are both ambitious adaptations from directors with visions that outpaced studio understanding. The Magnificent Ambersons is really a favorite of mine, but it doesn’t have a lil dinosaur in it, so no one really gets an edge in regards to quality there.

@pompom-purin I just borrowed it from my mom, but think I’ll end up buying my own copy. It has way more charm than I expected as I get into it!
Considering I rank Super Mario 64 as one of my favorite games, it's a travesty I haven't actually played through this.
