i got rid of mine after seeing some people have a discussion about the point of having a splash/landing page, and how it's kind of pointless and serves little purpose. it also creates a barrier between the user and your website as a whole, so people might click through and see your splash page and decide to leave instead of carrying on through to the rest of the site
I like my splash page, which is mostly just a big ass graphic saying my site isn't mobile friendly- which is very true. But since it also serves as the thumbnail for when ppl on neocities are browsing, i think its done well for me. Realistically I think thats how most people are going to encounter it (as a thumbnail first). Just my two cents. u do u boo.
