Updated reading diary; finished Parable of the Sower. few books have ever impacted me that much. even though I did finish the book itself I'm stil reading through the interview/reading group questions with Octavia Butler at the back of it. 2. since it's through RSS feed this never updates publicly, but my ""blog" has been updated a few times recently. I don't have everything i want on it yet, but oh well.

i suppose i should add TW for transphobic violence or something that i mention in my blog but i never describe anything, I don't know, i'm starting to feel ambivalent about trigger warning my personal experiences in that way but do want anyone who reads this (does anyone read this?) to be aware

Well, even though I'm Balkan, I'm not actually old enough to have friends traveling that much, so I haven't noticed anything... Though I must say, everyone travels these days for some reason?? Like why??

^ im from Central Europe, and my friends who are able to travel only went to northern countries recently, and nobody ever mentions going to south-eastern countries… it may correlate with what kind of people im surrounded by, though… (former art students, lol)

yea i noticed a lot of my acquaintances (girls especially) visited turkey at least once in their early 20s, its so often, at least here in my country that i feel like its such a basic thing to do nowadays lmao, idk why tho

In case of Russia everyone goes to Turkey because it's cheap, visa-free and relatively easy to bring money to, with all the bank bans and stuff. Same thing with Egypt.

I remember Tunisia being highly popular back when I was kid and even I went with my family few times, now most of people I know were going to Turkey. I heard about influencers from my country boasting about visiting Middle Eastern countries often though.

Read everyone's replies - that's so interesting and yeah I can see why people visit turkey, but its funny how it became The One destination to visit for us europoors :'). And yeah, women especially do it! And I do remember tunisia being really popular when I was a kid too, my bffs older sister even went there on her high school trip!

As a fellow eqstern euro, I think this has been an ongoing trend, when I was little in the early 2000s going to Egypt was like the bougiest thing you could do, nowadays it seems to be UAE. I think its just the closest "southern" climate we can get? Like Canaries or something seems more expensive. Idk why one, especially a woman, would willingly go to UAE tho lmao

Still ongoing. Money, pride and reputation are all at stake for something that I believe is frankly hedonistic. I am supposed to get a partner (specifically, a girlfriend) in a week and a half and spend a further week and a half together. It came from a joke somebody made about me never feeling a women's touch (not even my own mother's) and then it spiraled into a bet that I was told to get into. If I lose, I owe...

... a manga volume to the person who made a bet with (of a series which reflects his lecherous tastes [Nagatoro, Monster Musume, Dragon Maid, were his picks]). This deal was returned, but if I win, he is going to be broke beyond compare (going to pay every of some big Omnibus or Box Set).

To be completely honest, if I was in that situation, I would probably just take the L. A relationship founded upon on a bet seems painful for everyone involved. Physical affection means nothing without mutual compatibility, and it is better to be alone than in a relationship without true caring...That's just my opinion though. Whatever you choose to do, I hope everything works out for the best!

To add, she said she liked my personality out loud in class. I quite like her as well (and told some other classmates about it), but did not want to pidgeonhole myself to a certain timeline and I easily drop such ideas too. I likely will take the loss, unless "I fake it until I make it", but I might give the idea a try, but most probably only so far as to have conversation.
