For those who watch anime reviewers on YouTube, please avoid AkiDearest. She is really egotistical and is something like the Amouranth of otaku culture.

To clarify, AkiDearest is a reviewer looking to please people, whether it is anime, manga, figures or other merchandise. Not to actually review the product in question. This is why she has distanced herself away from anime and manga and has focused herself on stores and purchasing figures and the like, as well as stating that OnlyFans may soon become her main form of social media.

Needless to say, she is just another anime reviewer who has degenerated into something that many wish to avoid: a pushover, to say the least. That is not to say that she is the next Mr. Anime (yes, I remember his channel, please do not do what he did), but still someone who is best avoided to be associated with. I am but a mouse compared to her channel, but I hope to be the mouse who roared.

Ive never heard of her, what channels do you reccommend? Ive heard of kenny lauderdale, i really like obscure stuff.

Kenny Lauderdale and that is about it. I would recommend ThatAnimeSnob if he was not so coarse in his language (very brash and has a "-t**d" series that has been going for many years now). That is about it, really, Mother's Basement is inconsistent, Chibi is also a heretic (hates My Hero Academia, but loves all of the associated tropes) and Cuchallain deleted his channel. Those are all I know.

Steak Bentley only has like 3 anime reviews on his channel but his review of Ping Pong: The Animation is one of the best I've ever seen so I remembered his name.

About time someone stands up to the insane monopoly giant that is both Sony and Funimation. Sorry, that's the first thing I read through on your site, and it resonates with me greatly. I have never once paid for either service and have steered folk clear myself, so I appreciate what you're doing here too.

Nope, it is fine. I miss the days of A.D.V, Manga Entertainment, Tokyopop, Viz, 4K!DS, DiC, Nelvana, Geneon, Saban and Media Blasters (who are still around) all competing for anime titles, even if their adaptations were never always the best. With the monopoly, subtitles are probably going to get worse and some anime will become unobtainable.

It seems like your post on my profile disappeared. Might I ask about your thoughts on Kakugo no Susume? I would consider the pluses to be good music and somewhat decent animation (better than Angel Cop and the Nora series from slightly later). The negatives are the somewhat goofy character designs and how condensed the plot was for the runtime.

That being said, I kind of like Nora, too? The first would be unremarkable on its own, but Twinkle Nora is off base to such an unconventional degree, in terms of story, animation, all of it, that I think it made the first retroactively more interesting to me. I don’t think it’s good by any means, but sometimes it’s better to be fascinating than it is to be competently made.
