Red velvet bisects your path as you tremble, weakened from your travels. Pushing tentatively though the drapery you happen upon a figure dimly lit within. From a flowing sleeve emerges a slender hand. Green fingers paired with glossy black talons smooth a deck of cards in an arc across a small round table. With a single finger, the figure plucks out a card.

You clutch the chair opposite, slowly lowering yourself until you are seated. Though their face is occluded by the brim of a large pointed hat, the glow of their red eyes shines down, illuminating the card as you turn it to face you. As you do so, the corner of the card bursts into flame, ripping across its surface as it turns to ash.
