Dr. Mario on the Game Boy was the second game I ever owned. If you can't play the 64 version while rocking out to Fever then I don't understand what the heck the point is supposed to be.
@skep To be fair, maybe you can in other modes, but when I was a kid, this local pizza place had a tabletop Castlevania/Dr. Mario coin-op that I’d always play waiting for food, and Dr. Mario was maybe my first “oh, games can have good music” realization. Fever and Chill are both acceptable, but neither in 64’s story mode is a no-go.
@miela583 Somehow I missed Castlevania, but that's supposed to have good music too. My first game was Tetris—classic tune—and number three was Yoshi's Cookie, which had some bangers. I guess I grew up just assuming that video game music was great. In my defense, most of it is.
