for context, i put all my old Sims 4 lots from MTS onto the internet archive and those 18 pngs were the kerb appeal showcase shots. not going back to MTS, they have a "not that deep" content moderation problem there.
i'll look into that if i need to put huge pictures on my site, but this was just the internet archive so they can handle it. (though it's interesting how the screengrab is always 110% larger file size than the trayitem :P guess i shouldve been using jpegs all this time...)

Have you tried using tinypng? It works pretty well for me when compressing big files
