iirc they announced they would be unfollowing everyone to get higher on the featured sites list, and it seemed like ppl were fine atp, but then they mentioned they would be blocking anyone who didn't want to be part of the project (including anyone criticising it or smth, the list of block reasons was pretty long and i don't remember them all). the reason they gave was because they checked recently updated sites(1/2)
