I thought a How2 page on buttons was in order, to share my thoughts about etiquette. Is Hotlinking good or bad?

Hot linking used to be a detriment to the person being linked to, mainly for server concerns. That's not really an issue since we're all on the same host, so now it's more of an issue when the file changes or is deleted, leaving a broken image.

Great picture. How about Mars? Seeing it so close to the moon like that made me realize just how bright Mars is!

Thank you. Mars is appearing super-bright these nights, apparently it's at one of its closeset points to us for a while. I did cheat a little with that picture by merging two together to avoid the moon appearing over exposed with no definition.

Hi Kitty Ess! Visiting all of the dinosaur parks in the UK is a goal I've not heard of before! I live on Anglesey and there is a dinosaur museum here; I've not visited it but I have been past it a few times http://stonescience.co.uk I'm now reminded that I visited such a museum in London on a school trip, many years ago now. Maybe there is a difference between the museums and parks though... Kind regards, Brian.

Hi Brian! thanks for your comment and for the follow. If I'm ever in Anglesey I'll definitely drop by the museum. As for the difference between museums and parks... it's more of an arbitrary distinction that I've made up for the list lol.

I love the look of the button you made; it suits my site's feel very well. Unfortunately, you probably *should* use one of the ones I already have, because I didn't make that sunset gif and it's not even one whose creator has been lost to time. I have permission from the artist to use it on my site, but not permission to transform/edit it in any way. ^^;

I normally go for a cheap one too, but I was concerned my cheap one lacked abrasiveness, leading my dentist to criticise my teeth on the grounds that they weren't pearly white!

@cosmicsan I had one of the cheap Chinese versions back in the day; I'm glad I finally get to try out the original ones!

@joppiesaus Yes! But I hope you're not suggesting I try that! They will die if you don't feed them or clean them or tend to them if they get sick, you also have to turn their light off for them at night to help them have good sleep.
