it feels almost religious, in the way one is humbled before divinity, fearful and yet brave enough to do so anyway. it's really hard to write, especially when you feel like what you have to say or how you have to say it isn't good enough. but i, for one, am looking forward to more of your magical writing. ☺
Oh my, I feel overwhelmed! This made my whole week. I squealed with joy as I read it. It means the absolute world to me that you took the time to say what you said. To have my writing be described as magical, theatrical, and almost religious? What a gift you've given me. I'm glad my writing was evocative of something. Thank you thank you thank you!!
Thank you so much! I think a lot about emotional honesty vs literal honesty so i'm glad that part resonated with you :D. One day i might write something longer on the subject cause i think it's super interesting
The bookbug review for Giovanni's Room is up!! I struggled writing it, but what's important is that it's done and published now :,D
Today I read Owl's Roost's new article, "Thoughts on Wanting" and not only did it resonate with me, it also seemed relevant to the character of David from Giovanni's Room :)
I studied to teach college lit, and I think academia lets the thought that some ways of reading are better than others sift through society in a crummy way. Audiobooks are just as valid a delivery method as words on a page. (Sorry! Soapbox!!)
Thank you, I think you’re absolutely right. I voiced my insecurity in an attempt to make myself feel better. But really, listening to writing just works for my brain more than reading. Physically reading, I expend great energy to not get distracted
