new game inspired buttons. one turns into a game over screen because you lost.
So far I've found: DC themed silhouette side-scroller, a simple watercolor blog layout, grey scale paper plane blog layout, simple HTML resume layout, an entire fansite for the Iliad (!), sky layout (scroll down to see the ground at the bottom)
hot air balloon grunge blog layout, hot air balloon whimsical blog layout, paper journal blog layout, car driving through a forest blog layout, fairy tale newspaper blog layout, folder FULL of QBEE things but no HTML :(
ladybug blog layout, DC metro blog layout, illustrated city blog layout, alien abduction blog layout, space cadet/rocket layout, an incredibly simple text-based blog layout, flying books theme, snowman/winter layout, illuminated manuscript themed, storybook themed, found the QBEE HTML files but they are in separate folders from all the images
splash pages: several papercraft/scrapbook inspired, vinyl early 90s styling, static list of links (pre-carrd sites!), video game world map inspired, simplified/boxy layout
this list isn't even half of what I found, a lot of my designs are split into header/index/footer php files that I can combine to see in HTML. I am going to modernize some of them and put them up as free layouts. They're all quite simple but might make a good starting point for people trying to learn.
in this 2006 moment I'm also gonna watch the movie Wristcutters which I probably haven't seen since 2006
fwiw, I enjoyed the format of this post even though it wasn't what you were intending. I also had an intense January for different personal reasons but same world events reasons as you. I am glad my words were a help. And I'm excited about zine therapy! I may do one. :)
zuck wazowski...i really loved this journal and i appreciate your openness and vulnerability. i've been having a lot of the same struggles and it's nice to know i'm not so alone
Thanks for the good feedback! I had intended it to be a month in review like "here's what I did" but it ended up being "here's what I thought about" and I can see how that is more relatable! I'll keep that in mind for future posts too. :)
i use nail clippers
