The current system for the Self-Insert Webring will stop accepting applications on April 10th so that I can focus on the new one! Once I stop accepting new applications I will make sure everyone in the queue gets added to the old system, and will focus on the to-do list for the new system. Will add this info to the sign-up page later today.

I have been working on a fully automated version of the Self-Insert Webring where members edit their information + images by themselves, and can update them instantly via an account. The base coding is all finished and functioning, but actual implementation is something I need to think about for a while before I try rolling it out. Will hopefully be posting more about it soon [...]

Members who are already in the webring would not have to switch to the new system unless they wanted to. Ideally, new members would sign up using the new version instead of e-mailing me to make it faster.

The steps required are to 1.) sign up for an account [no email needed] 2.) add your info and icon 3.) save a .js file to your website and add a small section into your website where you want the widget to be. A few more steps than right now, but people being able to join and change their info whenever they want seems like it would be much more of a pro than the negatives imo. Once again, would love some input tho :)

sounds like a great idea!! i'm sure it's a lot of effort to maintain+check your email especially with how much it's grown. thanks for all of your hard work running it and working on a new system!

V1 of the webring is officially closed! Will start adding all of the remaining applications left in my e-mail. If you're interested in testing out V2 before I officially release and link it you can send me an e-mail - if so, please let me know any feedback you have after testing it ^_^
