This is a neat little website. I remember when I was starting out just a few months ago. The key is to just start writing stuff, it gets you on a roll. Now I have a reasonable catalog of articles and more I plan on writing. Good luck!

You seem like a pretty cool programmer. Your "Eye engine" Java engine looks real interesting, I might try it out if the scripting language itself is also Java. Good luck with your game!

I love how one of your comments is titled "Y2K experience", even though it takes place in 2009. No, you couldn't slip that one past me. You have a guy whose username ends with "2004" and then he's 5 years old, 2004 usually being the birth year? Loved it anyways.

Just a little hint for your MS Word woes: use Libre Office or Abiword instead if you can, especially since you're using Linux. They both export to either native MS Word format or PDF format. If you need the real deal, you can run MS Word in a browser using Office 365, no Wine required. It's also impressive that you completed a 5 day project in only one.

I do usually use LibreOffice, but, unfortunately, that's not the case here. I have to follow a very specific template that doesn't work anywhere except Microsoft Office. It's probably possible to recreate it, but I don't have enough patience for that.

This is a neat little website. The webcomics are great. I'll be honest in saying that some of them lost me a little on the punchline, but the details on the ones that did get me were great. The "Kid so cool his head's just a mohawk" was my favorite one, especially with the little detail of the floating cigarette.

This is a pretty cool little site. Brief, simple, well designed. I like it! I read you've been playing some Team Fortress 2 recently. Good choice. It's a great game. It's one of my favorites. I love playing as a soldier and just going to town with a rocket launcher. Not enough games let you just go to town with a rocket launcher these days. Keep up the good work with this site!

This is a neat little website blog sort of thing! I definitely agree with you on your article of switching to Linux. I use Debian regularly, I switched from Windows a while ago, and I've never truly contemplated installing Windows for long term every day usage. Updates and installing new software are painless processes with apt, my setup only uses 400 mb of RAM on idle, my theming looks zany, etc. Linux is great!

Thanks! The site's simple design comes from my laziness ;). Yes, Debian to me seems to sit in an excellent middle-ground between something totally manual (Slackware or Arch I suppose) and something almost entirely automated (Windows/*buntu/etc). It sure was fun building the system from the ground up like Slackware but with easier tools.

. . . Just a little pro tip to continue my last message: if you're buying a computer with less than $200 to spend, buying a used one off of eBay can allow you to get a REALLY nice machine for a low price without having to do all that configuration to get Linux running since it'll come with parts that are dated but decent and common, and as such said parts will have excellent Linux suppport right out of the box.

This is a really neat little website. I like the big bombastic music you have on the homepage. I also am really impressed by the little section you had of that cheap chinese mini PC you fixed up and got working with a bunch of commands and patches. I feel like I would have neither the patience nor the intellect to figure all that stuff out . . .
