Thoughts on the end of Love Live School Idol Festival and the game that's supposed to come after it. (Warning for me complaining a lot) https://kalechips.net/posts/2023-02-05-SIF2
I found out about the EOS for LLSIF the day they announced it and I still haven't been able to cope yet, lol... totally agree with pretty much all your points here, as someone who truly did play the game for the game itself with cards as a bonus, it's just really heartbreaking. I've been playing on and off for ten (!) years and I can't believe it's finally going to be gone... :'( even now it just makes my heart ache
Main new thing is I decided to put in a fancy new php-enabled guestbook. I like it more than the alternatives, but some parts of the code are a little wacky, so I tried to fix a few things. I also completely gutted all the templates to make them accessible and HTML5 compliant and all that. Did I do this without breaking anything? I GUESS WE'LL FIND OUT
I've been wanting to overhaul the OC pages for a long while now so maybe I'll force myself to do that in the foreseeable future? MAYBE?
Updated the code snippet page with my styleswitcher script. I'm a little terse about implementation since I didn't want it to turn into a whole ordeal, but if you need help you can email me! https://kalechips.net/stuff/snippets.php?p=styleswitcher
It's December, somehow. New stylesheet for winter, and I made a page to archive past seasonal styles for people who still want to use them: https://kalechips.net/stuff/styles.php
It's perfectly functional (on mobile too), I'm mainly looking into coding in adding/removing tiers on the user end. And maybe color changing. Progress save would be pretty cool too if it's not too much of a chore
I can also release the code once I'm done if anyone is interested. Make your own tiermaker bootlegs!!!!!! Win!!!!
Added a recipe for veggie pasta in my quest to get people to eat more vegetables: https://kalechips.net/posts/2022-11-12-Vegetable-Pasta.php
Also new art wooo yay [hasn't updated the art page proper in months] https://doodle.kalechips.net/post/700745404695887872/
Managed to recover some of my virtual pet clicker game accounts and now there is a page full of things to click if you're into that: https://kalechips.net/stuff/pets.php
UH OH! Swinging the bat at a hornet's nest with this one (no offense intended to hornets. I love you, hornets.) Neocities, Bloat, and Better Things: A response to a reader question about web design. https://kalechips.net/posts/2023-02-08-Neocities
Your thoughts on this are so enlightening, I know I’ll check back for tips once I get too big for Neocities… but you’re right, the centralized hub is so tantalizing right now, especially for getting new people to try it. Thanks for being informative as hell
I agree. I keep my site mostly to inform about updates but after years of using real hosting I never would go back. I personally would recommend Dreamhost to anyone looking for a good hosting, though it's a bit pricier than Teacake but I like having my domain registrations and everything at one place
@matfloor I was this close to using Dreamhost but I felt like I'd be paying for way more stuff than I'm actually using (and I hate spending money on things I'm not going to use...) I've heard great things, though!
