the freedom of writing in raw HTML is great. If you're willing to handle the learning curve a static site generator (there are several, I use 11ty) allow the freedom of HTML but remove the overhead of managing it all manually

All of these notebooks are so pretty! I keep a lot of them, too, and am trying to convince myself that the coffee stains left on my reading log notebook after a spill on Monday are a feature, not a bug.
