ok so apparently the problem with the font is that for some reason, every font i use just gets displayed as new times roman. my original font was ms pgothic, so its not like i was using an unsupported or outside font in the first place. no idea why this is happening

is there a reason your style sheet has .body {} (as a class) instead of just body {}? when i take out the period, fonts work for me. could that be it?

maybe you could try @font-face on your style sheet, like: @font-face { font-family: "font name"; src: url("font url") format("format"); }

thanks for the tips. i just noticed that i did have .body instead of just body in my stylesheet, but nothing changed when i took out the period. as for @font-face, it took a ton of tries, but it finally worked. had to straightup upload the font to my site. oh well
