I hope 2024 is a better year for you. From someone who is no longer a teenager, your teenage years are definitely NOT the best of your life. Trust me, they totally suck & it gets easier with age. Saying that made me sound so old lol but I'm serious
thanks tbh, thats actually a bit of consolation to me. who knows, maybe when im like 24 i'll look back on my current worries and laugh, lol. hope your 2024 goes well too, and thanks for the advice
Of course :) I'd describe mental illness & some of life's miseries in general as a pot boiling over. As you get older & get to understand yourself better, you're more able to manage things because you've had practice. At times you have to stir & manage things, sometimes all the time, but it's easier because you've had more practice. People like to talk about self discovery a lot, & the word discovery implies finding
something new, but I kind of think that part of it is just getting to know yourself, almost like knowing a friend, learning to take care of yourself. I feel like I'm giving unsolicited advice so I'm gonna cut it out :p But seriously, no one I know looks back fondly on their teenage years.
I hope you're able to reach a point where you can feel excited about getting older. It takes time, but I really think you'll get there one day
dw, it's not unsolicited. if anything, i really appreciate it!! tbh, i feel a lot better about getting older now, looking at it from that point. i feel a bit more okay future, like maybe it wont be as unmanagable as i think itll be. thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot
