going to nyc and la to meet a bunch of labels soon... im literally getting ready to talk my head off abt neocities cuz they always ask me abt my site... what r ur fav things abt neocities/the indie web? talking points? ill prob delete this later in case they find my profile lol,, but like tbh i already have a lot of thoughts abt neocities but id love to hear thoughts from our community

I love how organic and intentional the interactions are. There isn't an algorithm to spoonfeed us content so we have to actively search the content we are interested in, and put in an effort to keep in touch with the creators we like. I see way more value in this kind of interaction than having a big number of followers/likes. Being in neocities actually feels like a community!
low barrier but high ceiling, love to see it when neocities introduce ppl to the indie web!

1) good luck on all your meeting <3 i hope everything goes well! 2) i may be biased, but i feel that the indie web helps users connect in a way that traditional social media hasn't been able to do in a long time. people are tired of the forced and algorithm-generated interections, and the indie web is a perfect place to connect those people with creative and actually-in-love-with-their-work artists like you ^_^
I like how people puts their brain into it. What I mean is that: You use your imagination and make some good looking site.
everything about the indie web! it was my re-intro to the space and i love it. it reminds me of what someone had mentioned what they used to love about myspace: social media is so bland and corporate, but going to someone's myspace page (or in this case, neocities) is like hanging out in their childhood room. AND bc i get to find cool art like your music - even before mr. fantano!! :D
