this was a great blog post. i personally dont think you were looking at things from a strict binary. a wise friend once told me, that the patriarchy is not only about men, just as feminism is not only about women

thank u for reading limovars!! and yea, def true. binary thinking in my eyes more applies to the diversity of gender experience but hard agree, patriarchy affects us all

I remember being a teen and having classmates who LOVED the song "Kim" by Eminem and I never really found a great way to voice out my discomfort, especially then since I did not come as transmasc yet. It's interesting to look back at the music of that era and see how the culture has shifted and changed since then.

totally, i feel like things are more implicit now... a song like that released today i'm sure would raise some red flags

super interesting post, @ my job i am very often the only woman in a room and don't have female colleagues i work w regularly. it is a weird double edged sword bc i don't Want to be the only woman and hate that awk feeling but it does feel like i automatically stand out from other ppl and get selected for unique opps bc im competent and am superficially yet immediately different from other similarly competent ppl.

re; the rest of your post-- its crazy how much bigotry plays into everyday jokes and assumptions. i try to always challenge it where i can esp with ppl i feel comfortable with
