holy shit dude. I'm so glad I have never touched twitter. I have the same kind of OCD and it SUCKS. I promise you that you aren't the person you might worry about being, no matter how real it feels sometimes. I know its hard but remember to give yourself a break!!

met my bestie and fiance in my last years of school, met my other friends thru my besties family lol (her siblings, sister in law etc)
i met my current friend group because i was in a mental health program and i hit it off with a girl there. kinda odd but it worked for me!!
met the four people that changed my life on a discord server for the game omori back in june of 2024 :]
i feel that for sure. my best friend is someone i met on tumblr back in '09 LOL a lot of my irl friends are people i've met at various jobs tbh. but if you're looking for indie web buds there's always room in the treefort... treefort.boards.net
i met a good chunk of my friends from middle school, but for online folks i met them through an at the time niche fandom, mostly this one really good buddy and he introduced me to his friends in a small friendgroup discord server :P
