lmaoo paranormal activity is objectively bad horror & a shit movie period, but when i'm in the mood to ride a jump scare rollercoaster, it's tried & true
LOL I WISH it had at least made me jump! Maybe I didn't have the volume up high enough lmaooo. Understandable though! Though personally jump scares are possibly my least favorite horror strategy, so that's probably contributes to my personal vitriol about it all.
i may be just a wimp (/▽\) i feel you completely tho lolll jump scares are cheap
Totally fair! We've all got different sensibilities. I'm honestly glad someone enjoys it even if that someone isn't me.
paranormal activity series is interesting to me but mostly in the sense that it could have been a lot more interesting than it actually ended up being re: the lore and character dynamics. one of those "I could fix it" type franchises
I've had the same experience with you with selfies--now that I feel more confident in myself, I hardly think to take any!
@ocrevol I agree that the lore was definitely lacking. I have seen some of the sequels and felt they were silly in a way that makes me less mad at them. Definitely poor movies but still fun. It's the status of the OG as this like, terrifying all-time classic that gets me riled. I also ALMOST always end up hating found-footage type movies but it seems that format tends to be really compelling for a lot of people.
@inkcaps what an interesting phenomenon! It seems counterintuitive but it makes sense. Not feeling the need to check all the time definitely feels a lot better and healthier even though I wouldn't say I'm less concerned with my appearance, just more content/satisfied with it. I'm glad we both found our way to this point!
